Based on the other comments, I thought 3-4 hours would be perfect. But no. With the standard crockpot have, I would suggest 2-3 hours on high OR 3-4 hours on LOW. My rive was overcooked after 3-4 hour on high. Ridiculous. People should test a recipe in multiple ways before posting it online.

In reply to Cody. You can try reducing it on the stove. Pour into a saucepan, and turn the burner on low. Bring the sauce to a low simmer and let it sit for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn't burn.

Made this for Mother’s Day dinner for my mother and SIL (and brother) and we all loved it. Very easy to make and it was delicious. I kept an eye on it and turned it down to low at 3 hours and then on the “keep warm” setting at 4 hours. It was nice and juicy and just fell apart.

I can’t find that one. But .. if you take some tortilla strips, and brush on the liquid and dust with shredded cheddar, you would get pretty close. Liquid is 1/4 c. tequila, 1/4 c. white sugar, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 3 Tbsp melted butter. Mix all together. Spoon over chips. sprinkle grated cheddar. Bake 20 min 400 or til cheese is nice and crispy brown, or how you like it. Jill
